Acronym for the professional designation Certified Facility Manager offered by the International Facility Managers Association (IFMA). The certification process assesses professional competence, work experience and qualifications and includes an comprehensive exam. The program was established in 1992, and more than 3,000 facility managers over 30 countries have achieved certification.
