clean room
A room in which the concentration of airborne particals generated by people, processes and equipment is controlled to specified limits. The level under which these particles need to be maintained depends upon the activities in the clean room. Products requiring ultra fine processing such as semiconductor devices or medical products requiring sterile processing are manufactured under clean room conditions.
